AHRIM has donated Rs 1 million to associations that work towards the protection of the environment , namely Mauritius Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animal and Paws which deal with the protection and control of domestic animals and the Reef Mauritius and the Marine Mauritius Conservation Society which are responsible for the protection of the lagoon and sea environment.

Mr Jean Michel Pitot is the new President of AHRIM. He is the director of Veranda Resorts. The former President was Mr Patrice Hardy, Director of Naiade Hotel group.
