Planning guidelines

Guidelines as regards to the design of some main tourism accommodations facilities and annexed main services have been published to ensure an aesthetic and harmonious construction of these facilities especially along the coast. One of the main provisions relates to the maximum floor levels for resort hotels that are as follows:

G+1 + 33% within 81.21 m

G + 2 remainder of land

Maximum Building height in metres

13 m – 15 m

Maximum plot coverage

20%

Setback from High Water Mark


30 metres

Provision: Light structures permitted within 15 – 30 metres

In a bid to ensure the quality of tourist accommodation facilities, a document (please click here) depicting the minimum standards and conditions required in hotels, has been published by the relevant Authorities. Information include layout of the hotel, health and security measures, staffing, general facilities, etc.
