The public health approach is to identify and organize the necessary resources in order to achieve the objectives of multiple health. The Mauritian authorities therefore remain vigilant to prevent any potential hazards. The goals of Public Health are assisting the development to improve life, health but also to prepare to prevent the disease arisement, moves and developement. In 2006, chickungunya appeared on the island. Soon measures were taken. The various activities (larviciding, public communication, medical assistance) have slowed the development of the mosquito which also carries dengue. By mid 2006, the situation was rapidly controlled.
